Pharmacy Billing Specialist

Receives and processes all documents related to inpatient and outpatient pharmacies for Mayo Midwest. Ensures the accuracy; appropriateness and completeness of purchasing documentation and billing. Maintains either electronic or paper documents as required by Mayo policies and State and Federal Regulations. Updates and maintains current and accurate information in medication related databases across Mayo Midwest. Runs reports as requested for pharmacy leadership and Mayo financial analysts. Provides other accounting and supports services.

• Completion of a two-year college or vocational school program in business or accounting; OR equivalent experience in billing, accounting, or purchasing; AND a minimum of two years pharmacy experience. 
• Previous pharmacy purchasing or billing experience preferred.
• Computer skills including word processing; database and spreadsheet applications. Excellent typing skills. Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English.
• Must be detailed-oriented; able to prioritize work and able to work independently under general guidelines and procedures. 
• No history of drug abuse or misuse, or proof of successful completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required. 

License or Certification

• National Technician Certification required
