The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has exciting opportunities for Experienced Quality Engineers (Level 3) to join our BCA Fabrication Quality Engineering Team located in the Puget Sound in Auburn, Washington.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about problem solving, engaging with the production system and doing complex data analysis. Quality Engineers supports existing production through process improvement techniques involving defect reduction, verification system design and improvements, and ensures compliance to requirements. Our quality engineers get involved in complex engineering and production challenges and have a critical role in the continuous improvement of our quality management system, products and production system.
Quality Engineers (QE) work to develop, maintain and assess the Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for the production processes and design. QEs are responsible for verifying our value stream is capable of meeting the engineering requirements and our processes produce quality products. As a QE, you will work closely with other engineering functions, manufacturing and support functions to ensure compliance to our regulators and contractual requirements, while continually improving our products and processes. The Statement of Work includes being a problem solving leader through analyzing defect data, performing analysis to support production changes, identifying and implementing improvements to quality and production processes and product designs, and leading cross-functional teams on Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) and defect reduction efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances. Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
Works under general direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering and comparable degrees (ABET accredited)
3+ years of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience with the application of AS9145 / Advanced Product Quality Planning
3+ years of experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment
3+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem solving skills
3+ years of experience root cause analysis and corrective action.
Experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment
