Reporting into the Senior Director, Account Management, the Director, Strategic Account Services is responsible for identifying, creating, and managing commercial strategic health plan(s) to develop solutions, identify complementary products/services, define mutual goals, build awareness, oversee business engagement and support of overall strategic objectives. Business engagement includes all levels of leadership from the strategic level to the tactical/operational level. The results of effective account management will be the strategic alignment and execution of product and project related initiatives, account satisfaction with current products and services, account retention, and the identification of additional business opportunities with existing accounts. This position is part of the Growth Organization at Availity and carries a sales quota for expanding the current capabilities of the assigned health plan(s) to move them to an “all-in” status with the adoption of Availity solutions. The position requires the most current skills and knowledge, operates unsupervised and consults on the most complex projects. Must be viewed by the account as a trusted partner focused on ensuring mutual organizational success. Some travel will be required.

To be qualified for this position you:

  • 6 years of product/account/customer relationship management, provider relations, sales, marketing, or business development experience in a healthcare, provider or payer, environment with an emphasis on technology utilization
  • 2 years of experience in area of supervision with one year of leadership responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field

  • If you have worked in a performance based, metrics driven environment
  • If you possess extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry, specifically online processing systems, provider office operations, billing and collections and customer service processes in a healthcare or insurance organization

You will be:

  • Developing customer relationships and have the ability to integrate new or existing technology into the business
  • Creating strategic plans, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources to maintain and grow existing business
  • Holding quarterly business reviews with the client to understand current performance and identify areas of opportunity
  • Expanding the web of influence by consulting with the client on needs and offering strong solutions that will drive efficiencies across their organizat
