About the role

Description

The Department of Art, Art History and Design at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a one-year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position in art history, beginning August, 2026. A Ph.D. in art history is required. Preference will be given to scholars who can teach a range of introductory and intermediate courses in the Early Modern period (14th-17th century). Deadline for applications is April 15, 2026.

 

The Department of Art, Art History, and Design is a vibrant, multidisciplinary department offering graduate and undergraduate programs in studio art, art history, and design. We provide students with intellectually informed instruction in critical visual studies within the context of the liberal arts at an international Catholic research university.
