Physical Security Systems Engineer

This is a remote position.
We’re looking for a Physical Security Systems Engineer to support modernization projects at nuclear and power generation facilities. This role focuses on upgrading legacy security infrastructure and delivering fully integrated digital systems that operators can use with confidence. You’ll work at the intersection of security hardware, controls integration, and plant computer systems in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement upgrades for intrusion detection and surveillance systems, including cameras, radar, lidar, microwave sensors, and related devices.
- Re-zone and optimize existing security layouts to reduce system complexity while improving coverage and performance.
- Integrate upgraded security systems into plant control environments, ensuring compatibility with power supplies, switches, and operator interfaces.
- Develop wiring plans, device specifications, and implementation documentation for retrofit projects.
- Coordinate commissioning and validation to deliver seamless, user-friendly operation for plant personnel.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting physical security systems within nuclear or power generation environments.
- Working knowledge of intrusion detection technologies and digital surveillance platforms.
- Familiarity with plant computer system integration and controls coordination.
- Ability to translate complex technical designs into practical field implementation.
- Understanding of retrofit and upgrade work in regulated industrial facilities.
- Comfort working with electrical layouts, device wiring, and system schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to operational reliability.
- Clear communication skills for working with cross-functional engineering teams.
