About the role

Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Associate Dean/Division Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline. Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course.

Regular Faculty are required to serve a provisional period from the date of employment until the completion of employment under three consecutive full year regular contracts. 

This position may require working in virtual, weekend, evening, or various campus locations.  Successful candidate must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment both on PPSC campuses and in local area high schools.

Anticipated start date January 2026.

The required teaching schedule is January to May. The required pay schedule is January to August. Beginning August 2025, and ongoing, the required teaching schedule is August to May. The salary will be $76,920 with the required pay schedule from September to August and ongoing. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Associate degree in Computer Networking, Cyber Security, DEV OPS, Full Stack Web Development or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Current IT Industry Certification from at least one of the following: Cisco, CompTIA, EC- Council, ISACA, ISC2, Microsoft, AWS, Google, IBM, Linux Foundation, Terraform, Hashicorp.
  • Two years of full-time work experience in Computer Networking, Cyber Security, Secure Web Application Development or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching or training IT.
  • Ability to demonstrate or articulate a commitment to serving underrepresented populations or populations affected by societal inequities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with underrepresented populations in successful efforts to close the achievement gap.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Networking, Cyber Security, DEV OPS, Secure Web Application Development or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Three or more years of full-time work experience in Computer Networking Virtualization, Cloud Cyber Security, Secure Web Application Development, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in a higher education environment focused on hands-on learning, to include instructional methodology, curriculum design and development, and program planning.
  • Participation in Cyber Security Competitions.
  • Demonstrated hands on expertise in at least one of the following: AWS, Azure, Citrix, VMware (Broadcom), Windows and Enterprise Linux Servers, Linux, PowerShell, Python, Javascript (JS), GO.
  • Demonstrated CI/CD development or IT automation project work.
  • Strong knowledge of OWASP Web Application Security and Virtualization Container Technology such as Kubernetes.
