Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Stationary Engineer Chief for the Elgin Mental Health Center located in Elgin, Illinois. Will serve as the Chief Engineer and lead worker for staff in the Elgin Mental Health Center. Performs responsible administrative work in planning, organizing, evaluating, managing and directing all phases of physical operation and maintenance for the Elgin Mental Health Center. Prepares request for expenditures forms for equipment and repair/installation needs for the DHS, Elgin Mental Health Center. Serves as designated lead worker. Makes rounds of the boiler and mechanical rooms to read gauges as well as making rounds of entire facilities to observe the operation of all equipment, systems, generators, and other machinery. Travels in performance of job duties.
