At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Research at Pennington Biomedical is supported broadly by multiple NIH Research Centers, and includes approximately 65 faculty and 20 postdoctoral fellows who comprise a network of 44 laboratories and 13 highly specialized core service facilities. Pennington Biomedical is located within state-of-the-art research facilities on a 222-acre campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Job Description:
Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Research Dietitian in the Clinical Trials Unit.
The Research Dietitian will provide nutritional education and counseling, including the coordination, planning, and implementation of intervention activities, to participants enrolled in clinic trials at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.
Major Responsibilities
Participate in the assessment of dietary and health behaviors in the laboratory and free-living conditions.
Participate in the development and delivery of health promotion interventions, such as exercise training, dietary interventions, time-restricted eating, and weight loss treatment.
Perform counseling visits to clinical trial participants to improve nutrition and dietary quality, mental health and developing coping skills, and building health behavior and lifestyle habits that align with participant's goals and values.
Manage and coordinate clinical trial studies including data management, study visit preparation, participant consenting, and study status communication.
Work cooperatively and in collaboration with all clinical trial staff members to complete visits and submit accurate source documentation.
Maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, credentialing materials and other required documents.
Regularly stay informed on the latest nutrition and food health updates.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field.
Louisiana Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field.
Three or more years of experience as a dietitian.
