The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Analyst, Supply Chain Planning, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Advancing Supply Chain processes using system-based planning (Factory Planner), robust standard work, and parameter management
- Planning and executing supply chain functions in Factory Planner (MRP), PeopleSoft, SAP, and various reporting and analytics tools in Power BI
- Participating in SC Weekly reviews, where you will give updates regarding output vs forecast, production schedules, capacity and material constraints, backorder recovery timelines, customer due date accuracy (CDDA), and successes and areas for improvement
- Working closely with the manufacturing team and value stream leadership to determine how best to resolve supply constraints to balance service, inventory, and cost to meet business targets
- Analyzing demand requirements and planning, scheduling, and monitoring work center output to meet customer requirements and improve work center operational efficiency
- Knowing, understanding, and improving key metrics like Backorders, Lead Time Adherence, OTIF, Inventory, etc. These topics will require daily communications and participation in the Tier process
- Actively manage working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets
- Requires 2-4 hours of weekend coverage one month every quarter
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND one (1) year of supply chain experience
OR
- High School Diploma/GED from AND five (5) years of supply chain experience
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) CPIM certification. If not complete at the time this position is assumed, the certification will become part of the employee professional development plan as agreed between management and the employee
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Six (6) years of combined supply chain and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Strong systems background, including ERP, SAP, i2 Factory Planner, COMS, PeopleSoft
- Strong analytical skills, able to perform data analysis within Microsoft Applications
- Strong problem-solving and communications skills
Work location: Hybrid Eligible in Brookings, SD (working from the office at least 3 days per week)
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
