Position Overview

The Division of Family and Community Services is seeking an administrator to lead the Bureau of Immigrant and Refugee Services. This position is responsible for directing and managing bureau operations, implementing policies that advance departmental goals and objectives, and overseeing the development, analysis, and interpretation of complex research, including federal and state legislation and administrative policies related to immigrants and refugees. The role also serves as a full-line supervisor, providing leadership and guidance to bureau staff while fostering a culturally competent and inclusive work environment to serve diverse immigrant and refugee communities effectively.

Essential Functions

• Serves as Refugee and Immigrant Services Administrator.
• Directs, organizes, develops and interprets highly complex research, including, but not limited to, federal legislation and administrative policies pertaining to immigrants and refugees.
• Serves as full-line supervisor.
• Directs, organizes, implements, and evaluates the Bureau’s compliance with grant making and grant management requirements and ensures compliance with the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) and other federally funded program requirements.
• Serves as the federally designated Immigrant Integration Coordinator.
• Travels to provide program assistance to private social service agencies responsible for job counseling and job placement, statewide consortium of adult education programs and service and other agencies providing services to refugees and other immigrants.
