What We're Looking For
As a senior IT manager, you will work closely with the rest of our team to ensure that our company is using the most up-to-date technology to run our business. We are seeking an IT leader who will be responsible for ensuring that the hardware and software used by our company is compatible, secure, and scalable. You will also be responsible for managing our internal network including connection to instruments and providing on-site support for our staff at our Palo Alto office and lab.
Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Plan and oversee the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and networks
- Develop and implement policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure
- Analyze resource utilization and develop strategies to optimize performance
- Establish, measure, and define IT goals and maintain an IT roadmap
- Monitor and analyze the success of IT initiatives and projects and continually develop and evaluate new technologies and tools for the company
- Direct the activities of the help desk to ensure the IT needs of users are met
- Manage development projects to integrate new technologies into existing systems
- Perform ongoing support and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network components
- Establish a security policy to protect company information and resource
- Develop IT onboarding plan for new hires and device provisioning and configuration. Own the company's end-point management strategy
- Develop IT offboarding plan for terminated employees and consultants.
- Chair a cross-functional IT steering committee to evaluate solutions that affect multiple groups
- Source and evaluate vendors of IT services.
What You Bring to the Team
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of industry-standard computer hardware and software systems
- Experience with office network administration
- Experience with maintenance of laboratory related equipment (e.g. sequencers, freezers, etc.)
- Experience in IT installation, maintenance, and support for regulated and biotech companies
- Experience managing on-premises servers, and network-attached storage (NAS) devices
- Familiarity with system administration for enterprise softwares such as Google Workspace, productivity softwares, and identity management systems
- Assistance in audit/compliance of IT infrastructure (e.g. SOC 2 and HITRUST)

- Base Salary Range: $146,000 to $218,000; takes into account factors including experience, skills, location, education and other compensation and benefits being offered. These may include: competitive equity, bonus, 401k matching, paid time off, and other benefits (medical/dental/vision, STD/LTD, Life/AD&D, HSA, FSA).
