This position will lead, assign, review, and participate in the more complex field staff assignments within the Code Compliance Department. The Sr. Code Compliance Officer will act as team leader within a field staff unit and/or perform specialized duties of a more complex nature within the department and will provide a leadership role in the investigation of complaints and enforcement of municipal codes, and zoning ordinances. Assignments may include cross-departmental responsibilities.</p> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED</li> <li>Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience enforcing municipal ordinances and codes, or related experience depending on assignment</li> <li>Valid Texas driver’s license</li> <li>Possession of a State of Texas Code Enforcement Officer Certificate at time of hire</li> <li>Candidate selected for hire must pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Physical, and Criminal Background check</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Candidates who have a higher level of education</li> <li>Public presentation experience</li> <li>Bi-lingual Skills (English/Spanish)</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Sr. Code Compliance Officer job responsibilities include: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Leads, plans and participates in the work of Code Compliance Department staff assigned to investigate complaints, perform inspections, and facilitate abatement of ordinance violations</li> <li>Reviews the work of field staff for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications</li> <li>Pe
