Description
Job Specification Role Title: Senior Technical Lead (Project Delivery) Location: Dublin, Ireland or UK (Hybrid / Client Site) Department: Application Modernisation & Enterprise Integration About Codec Codec is an award-winning digital transformation company with big growth ambitions. We are an established full-stack IT consultancy, a local alternative to the Big 4, headquartered in Dublin with offices in Galway, Belfast, London, Poland, and Germany. We are growing rapidly and have crafted a clear vision of the future, developing our own ‘IP’ to complement the Cloud stacks from Microsoft. As we continue to win large-scale government and enterprise contracts, we need strong technical leadership on the ground. The Role Codec is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to spearhead the delivery of large-scale, long-term enterprise projects (12+ months). This is a hands-on, client-facing delivery role. You will not just be an architect in an ivory tower; you will be the "Captain of the Ship" for a dedicated client engagement. You will serve as the primary technical authority on the ground, leading a squad of developers to deliver robust Azure-based solutions while remaining hands-on with the code.Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery Leadership
- Technical Ownership: Act as the Lead Architect/Developer for a dedicated client project. You own the technical roadmap, architecture, and code quality for that specific engagement.
- Client Advisory: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the client’s internal IT and stakeholders. Explain technical decisions, manage scope creep, and build trust through competence.
- Hands-on Execution: This is a builder role. You will spend a significant portion of your time coding (C#, .NET, Azure, Angular/Blazor), setting the pace for the team and handling the most complex integrations yourself.
Team Direction (Project Level)
- Squad Leadership: Direct the daily technical work of the developers assigned to your project. Assign tasks based on capability, conduct code reviews, and unblock the team when they hit technical walls.
- Quality Control: Ensure that what goes into the client’s environment is production-ready. You are the final gatekeeper for code quality, security, and performance on your project.
Solution Design & Integration
- Architecture Implementation: Translate high-level designs into working software. Make the granular decisions on how to implement Azure Functions, Service Bus patterns, and Dataverse integrations within the client’s specific constraints.
- Environment Management: Take responsibility for the project's DevOps maturity, ensuring CI/CD pipelines and environments (Dev/Test/Prod) are correctly managed and secured.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Skills & Experience- Consultancy Experience: Proven experience acting as a lead consultant or technical lead on long-term client projects. You understand the difference between internal development and billable client delivery.
- Full-Stack Seniority: 8+ years of development experience with deep expertise in the Microsoft Stack (C#, .NET, Azure). You must be capable of leading a team by example.
- Client Facing Communication: Excellent ability to manage client expectations, explain technical risks to non-technical project managers, and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Azure Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Azure PaaS (App Services, Functions) and integration patterns (Service Bus, Event Grid).
- Delivery Focus: A track record of shipping software. You are not just an architect who draws diagrams; you are a lead who pushes code to production.
Location & Eligibility
- Hybrid Working: Codec supports hybrid working; however, on-site working will be required where expected by customers, and attendance at Codec offices is expected regularly.
- Right to Work: Candidates must be currently located in Ireland or the UK with existing Right to Work approval.
