Pay Range:  409

Hourly Rate:  $18.19 - $28.20

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.

ATTENTION APPLICANTS

On-site interviews will be offered to qualified applicants (valid photo ID required) during the City of Oklahoma City From Classroom to City Career: Hiring & Career Expo Event, to be held Wednesday, March 25, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Metro Tech, 1900 Springlake Drive, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73111. Interview questions are included in the supplemental questions.  Upon receiving and accepting a job offer, applicants will be referred for drug testing (as applicable based on position) that will be conducted on-site as part of the City’s background process for employment. Criminal history checks will also be obtained following the event as part of the background process.

BACKGROUND CHECK

Civilian employees of the Oklahoma City Police Department must successfully complete a comprehensive background check and polygraph test prior to employment.

POLICE REPORT CLERK WORK SCHEDULE 

Police Report Clerks work an 8 days on/6 days off schedule, assigned to one of the following rotations:

  • Tuesday to Tuesday
  • Wednesday to Wednesday
  • Thursday to Thursday

Upon successful completion of training, employees will be assigned to one of the following shifts based on operational needs:

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
  • 3rd Shift: 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

ELIGIBILITY LIST PREFERENCE ORDER

Full-time City employees will receive preference in the following order: major division first, then department, then all other full-time City employees. Part-time/year-round City employees will receive preference next. If there are no qualified full-time City employees or part-time/year-round City employees, external applicants will then be considered (when the vacancy is open to external applicants).
