The Sr. Reporter, Leveraged Loans for PitchBook’s Leveraged Commentary & Data (LCD) unit will report on issuance in the US broadly syndicated loan market, relying on a deep roster of contacts across the asset class that the reporter has or will develop. The Sr. Reporter’s output will be published on PitchBook LCD’s real-time platform, as well as in its daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly publications. 

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Report on and write real-time news stories detailing US leveraged loan issuance, including specific transaction terms
• Develop and maintain contacts within the leveraged loan space, specifically: loan investors, arranging banks, traders, portfolio managers, and others 
• Follow trends, market moves, industry developments, and the personalities behind deal activity 
• Working with Managing Editor and LCD Research, provide context around new-issue launches and produce in-depth analytical pieces detailing trends in the leveraged loan and leveraged finance marketplace, relying on sources, interviews, and LCD research 
• Work with Data Operations, Analysts, and Designers on creating and maintaining data or news-related initiatives
• Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
• Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree 
• 4-8 years of experience covering financial markets, ideally with a background in leveraged finance, debt, or structured finance 
• Contacts within the US leveraged loan market and/or ability to develop market contacts
• Ability to work with data in Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 
• Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to work effectively under real-time deadlines 
• Ability to work effectively as part of highly productive team
