Job Description Summary

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor responsibilities include planning and coordination of daily activities in the B-100 and IPOC warehouses & shipping/receiving areas. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventories in the ERP system along with planning, coordinating, and overseeing the activities of hourly warehouse colleagues.

Scope of Authority –

Warehouse and Shipping/Receiving Operations at Rochester, MI plant.

Key Accountabilities -

Supervisor Activities Shipping &

Receiving Activities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities.
  • Supervise warehouse union colleagues and work side by side with them on the warehouse floor.
  • Manage inventory levels.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of products.
  • Maintain warehouse safety.
  • Train new workers.
  • Ensure proper inventory management.
  • Coordinate with other departments and customers to meet their requests.
  • Manage shipping and receiving activities to efficiently receive, store, control, and ship materials in compliance with cGMPs.
  • Evaluate and report on warehouse productivity.
  • Input warehouse generated inventory transactions in the ERP system  and review system reports to ensure data accuracy. 
  • Assist contract customers with specialized shipping requests.  These may include a variety of temperature recorders, placement, shipping configurations and unique forms
  • Conduct dangerous goods shipments per IATA/DOT Regulations for product shipments.  Instruct Storekeepers on packaging and labeling of dangerous goods. Complete dangerous goods declarations for such shipments.
  • Coordinating material movements between facilities on-campus
  • Perform deviation investigations.
  • Perform and execute preventative and correction action plans

Reporting

  • Develop periodic reports such as inventory reports, capacity, material movement, inventory turns, deviation review, and Warehouse metrics.  Lead discussion and develop and implement action plans for improvement

Documentation

  • Prepare shipping documents for all shipments of finished product (domestic and export) from the Rochester site and make shipping arrangements with appropriate carriers. 
  • Process all documentation including freight bills and freight damage claims per cGMP documentation guidelines.

Discrepancies

  • Adjust inventory discrepancies in accordance with Materials Management and Financial Services parameters to assure an accurate material-planning database. 
  • Identify the cause of errors in inventory records and recommend action plans to eliminate these problems

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from a 4-year college or university in a related field is preferred but not required; or 1-2 year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience with ERP system required; SAP experience preferred
  • Experience working in a GMP or highly regulated field preferred
  • Experience working in a union environment preferred

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SAP system a plus
  • Knowledge of warewhouse operations
