Maintenance Generalist - Charter House

Responds to resident requests for needed repairs through a work order system. Performs light duty maintenance work such as light bulb replacements, painting, hanging pictures, basic plumbing repairs, and general carpentry work. Electrical/Mechanical repair of portable equipment which will include residential ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, vacuums, floor lamps, and custodial cleaning equipment. General carpentry skills include shelve installation, trim replacement and furniture repair. Turnovers of resident apartments and in the health care areas will include drywall repair and wood finishing. Conducts daily rounds of grounds and the parking ramp for litter pick up. Grounds keeping of all planted areas which will include spring planting, mowing, watering, and weeding as necessary.

High School diploma or equivalent. Residential home repair or commercial maintenance experience working with plumbing repairs and installation, and electrical troubleshooting of residential appliances. As well as skills in carpentry, lock hardware installation, grounds keeping or related field. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.Post-secondary education in building maintenance preferred. Must be able to prioritize work depending on Charter House/department needs. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
