Ford’s Research and Advanced Engineering team takes new ideas from theory to reality. Every day, we develop advanced energy management and propulsion technologies, create cutting-edge materials and manufacturing processes, and curate world-class cabin experiences that redefine what it means to drive a Ford.

In this position...
We are seeking a Global Technical Leader for Water Damage Prevention. There has been a significant increase in Ford warranty in recent years. This leader will need to decompose the vehicle level attribute to subsystem and component reliability requirements, validation processes, and methods to deliver water attribute goals.

What you'll do...
Create a closed loop system for Water Management by tracking issues, technical failure modes, and process escape points found on all vehicles in the field, as measured by warranty, in order to ensure component failure modes found in field are mapped to correct systemic prevents from vehicle, component, and system.

Create a closed loop system for Water Management by tracking issues, technical failure modes, and process escape points found in full vehicle water testing in order to drive their prevents from proving ground testing into system and component tests, processes, requirements and DVMs.

Use technical background, understanding of global technical outlook, and historic technical leadership roles to identify technical expert needs for the global Water Management team.

You'll have...
Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
10+ years of experience with full vehicle automotive attribute development resulting in a strong knowledge of system interactions and their impact to the full vehicle and other systems.
6+ years of experience in Water Management.

Even better, you may have...
3 years or more of experience with problem solving methodologies and Quality Tools (FMEA, DOE, 8D, 6-Sigma Tools, Warranty Analysis).
Experience in either physical and/or CAE Water management verification acquired via an in depth understanding of automotive systems. Possess political acumen/discernment to effectively escalate issues for leadership awareness/assistance.
Strong planning and execution skills with a focus on delivery.
A passion for quality and data combined with a drive to orchestrate the interaction of many complex systems both functionally and organizationally
Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with your team and senior management.

A Technical Evidence book outlining qualifications will be required for this position.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
