JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The World in Conversation Center for Public Diplomacy (WinC) in the College of the Liberal Arts seeks applicants for an Instructional Technology Specialist to manage production and technology in the Center’s training program. This role works primarily with Sociology 119 - Race, Ethnic, and Culture course’s live production and other teams around the Center and the Pennsylvania State University to ensure student success and secure a rich cross-cultural and engaging learning environment.
This position requires a flexible schedule to include working some evenings and weekends. The live production of Sociology 119 streams every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. ET from late August to early May.
The media assets that the Instructional Technology Specialist will be responsible for will reflect the Center’s research method in mediation and group management. Media products include course materials, lecture recordings, video shorts, photographs, social media posts, and website content. Collaboration with faculty, instructional designers, and production teams will take place to develop and deliver these products.
Additionally, the Instructional Technology Specialist will identify collaborators for programming on a wide variety of social topics for an international audience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Evaluate academic program; develop and execute plan for Livestream, podcasts, course materials for web courses, and social media content
Develop a production plan for multi-media content based on the curriculum for the semester
Serve as the main quality check on all media platforms; ensure high-quality artistic products are being produced
Routinely collect feedback from worldwide viewers and make assessments; lead processes for improving post-production
Develop course materials for the online courses; administer web publications and other web-based content for all training workshops and web courses offered by Sociology 119 and WinC; ensure that design plans align with pedagogical objectives
