About the role

Temporary full-time  Biller & Financial Coordinator (Medical). May have potential for temp-to-hire.  Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30am - 3:15pm.

"Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Biller & Financial Coordinator (Medical) to join our growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

  • Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies
  • Meet with patients to go over costs and questions (insurance and self-pay)
  • Follow all guidelines set by health insurance companies (i.e. HMSA, UHA, etc.)
  • Create paper and electronic copies of documentation
  • Initiate late payment notices to relevant parties
  • Monitor and record payments and resolve any financial discrepancies
  • Investigate and appeal denied claims
  • Update and review all accounts to keep records of payments current
  • Answers phones when necessary
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Familiarity with medical billing software, CPT, and the latest coding guidelines
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office, email systems, etc.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, able to work without supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving aptitude

Experience: One (1) year experience as a medical biller or similar role (preferred)

Education: High school diploma. Bachelor's degree in accounting, healthcare administration, finance, business, or a related field is preferred but not required
