Job Description

The Technology Strategy & Transformation Director at U.S. Bank is responsible for driving operational excellence through consulting services, strategic partnerships, and program management expertise to advance organizational change and drive enterprise transformation.

The Executive Leader in this highly visible role will lead a variety of strategic initiatives and will collaborate with Technology and Enterprise leadership to set direction and drive implementation of strategic initiatives with a heavy focus on delivering results. This individual will be accountable for delivering organizational transformation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver business transformation

  • Drive strategic, cross-functional business transformation initiatives to deliver meaningful results

  • Define and drive business changes to deliver value through optimized strategy and operations

  • Define execution plans including defining the target state, outlining program milestones, and identifying and managing program risks and blockers

  • Oversee program and project governance processes to drive alignment with organizational priorities

  • Monitor program execution to ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints

  • Mitigate project and program risks through proactive identification and implementation of risk management strategies

  • Assisting in accelerating delivery of business line priorities including revenue opportunities as appropriate

Manage cross-functional stakeholders

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Technology, Risk, Security, and Business Lines to ensure alignment and obtain buy-in

  • Identify and prioritize program and project stakeholders to continuously capture feedback and enhance delivery

  • Plan and lead problem solving discussions and planning workshops providing thoughtful guidance and partnership

  • Facilitate communication and reporting with leadership and stakeholders to provide updates on initiative progress

Conduct continuous improvement diagnostics and delivery

  • Lead end-to-end diagnostic assessments to identify opportunities for process optimization

  • Conduct root causes analysis and design prioritized solutions to implement sustainable change

Demonstrate leadership and collaboration

  • Share subject matter expertise to further enrich the Enterprise Solutions team’s skill set

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or equivalent work experience

  • 10 or more years of experience as a transformation lead, consultant, or similar role

  • Proven track record of driving complex and strategic initiatives and delivering measurable results

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform decision-making

  • Exceptional verbal and written presentation and communication skills.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams and influence without authority

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, manage competing priorities, and comfortable working through ambiguity 

  • Ability to work closely with colleagues at all levels, from senior business leaders to front line staff 

  • Strong intellectual curiosity and demonstrated ability to learn new content

  • Courage to disagree, confidence to develop and defend strategic perspectives, and maturity to accept alternative decisions

  • Ownership mindset and doer mindset

  • Consulting experience in a major firm desired

  • This position offers a hybrid/flexible schedule which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days
