Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane. Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida.
OVERVIEW
The Compensation Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, implementation and administration of compensation programs and policies that match the company’s vision and follow relevant laws. Employees in this role conduct market research, analyze data, and make recommendations on pay practices and policies. This position also collaborate with HR business partners and managers to ensure fair and consistent compensation practices across the organization.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and update compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures to align with market trends and organizational goals
- Collaborate with other total rewards team members to streamline work processes and integrate the department
- Provide guidance and support to HR business partners and managers on compensation-related issues and policies
- Create and present recommendations/proposals for equity adjustments, market alignment, restructuring and reorganizations
- Support the annual merit and bonus review process, including merit increases, promotions, and adjustments
- Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to ensure internal and external pay equity
- Participate in salary surveys and benchmarking exercises to maintain and update salary structure and pay ranges
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations
- Perform regular compensation data audits to ensure data accuracy
- Assist in the administration of 401k programs and support various benefits initiatives as required
- Support other total rewards initiatives and projects as needed
WORK EXPERIENCES
Required
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible compensation experience.
- Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs, company policies and operations, with detailed knowledge of FLSA regulations
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience using an HRIS system, preferably SAP HR/HCM, and ability to develop and analyze reports and queries
- Experience writing reports and presentations, including creation through analysis to all levels of the company
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and experience with benchmarking and market pricing jobs, including the completion of salary surveys.
- Knowledge and experience with creating and presenting recommendations/proposals for equity adjustments, market alignment, restructuring and reorganizations
Preferred
- Prefer certification as a Certified Compensation Professional through the World @ Work, or actively working to attain certification.
- Professional training and experience with SAP HR/HCM and SuccessFactors modules
- Process Improvement and related process mapping skills
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Management or related discipline from accredited university
