Job Duties:
- The ES Eligibility Case Manager performs general work duties related to the administration of the SNAP and TANF programs in the Economic Services Division in the county office to help restore or improve customer financial stability. Serve as a bilingual worker for the SNAP and TANF programs and as interpreter for Spanish calls transferred from DSS Connect as well as translate documents for all these areas.
- Conducts a minimum of 15 quality bilingual interviews per day to include both phone and face-to-face interviews for SNAP, TANF, and ESAP applications and SNAP and/or TANF renewals. Serves as an interpreter for Spanish calls transferred from DSS Connect as well as translate documents for all these areas.
- Processes all SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP applications by determining eligibility and authorizing benefits if applicable.
- Maintains electronic case files (in agency designated system) accurately and timely for documentation and auditing purposes; safeguards confidentiality of files and information in files.
- Identifies and documents overpayments and makes at least 3 possible claims referrals to the Benefit Integrity Unit; prepares supporting documents for Fair Hearings and attends hearings as directed.
- Ensures personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared, and disposed. Protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment, and data.
- Provides services in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations and agency policies and procedures.
- Participates in training and supervisory meetings or staffings as required.
- Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Examples of duties
A High School Diploma and at least one (1) year of experience in Economic Services programs.Must be proficient in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing.
