About the role

If you are a BENEFITS professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you!  As the Manager of Retirement Benefits, you will be a critical member of our global benefits team, responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and administration of retirement programs across our organization.  Reporting directly to the Director of Global Benefits, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our employees have robust and well-managed retirement plans.  While this role will initially focus on retirement benefits, additional benefits programs and/or areas of responsibility may be added. 

As a Manager of Retirement Benefits, YOU WILL:

  • Lead the development and execution of retirement benefits strategies including 401(k), pension, and other retirement plans
  • Manage vendor relationships with investment advisors, administrators, and other vendors supporting our retirement plans.  Includes sourcing and recommending vendors
  • Liaison with the Retirement Investment Committee to ensure effective quarterly fiduciary reviews
  • Consult with business units on local retirement program design and execution
  • Analyze industry trends, utilization rates, portfolio selections and employee needs to recommend adjustments to programs
  • Lead communications efforts to effectively communicate retirement plans to employees
  • Lead the financial wellness pillar of our global wellbeing strategy
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to government entities, as required (e.g. 5500)
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including ERISA, IRS, and international regulations
  • Lead other benefits programs, as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: 

  • Prior experience with both defined contribution and defined benefits plans
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of benefits regulations across different countries
  • Proven experience mentoring & leading other employees
  • Experience with implementation of Total Rewards programs & processes
  • Willingness and flexibility to take on special projects in support of the broader HR agenda and strategy
  • Ability to produce quality results in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Maintains composure and efficiency in stressful situations
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: 

  • Seven (7) years of progressive Total Rewards experience 
  • Prior experience in a large global company and/or in benefits consulting
  • Experience with Workday HCM
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) and/or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is a plus

Location:

Ideally, this role will be based in St. Louis.  However, the role can be hybrid/flexible with candidates willing to travel on a regular basis to St. Louis and/or other company locations. St. Louis is the host of Copeland's global corporate headquarters.
