The Senior Data Architect will help us design & build our technology and data platforms which power the growth of our products. We are looking for a top-tier data architect who can work up, down, and across our technology with our product teams and related systems to help solidify our information model and drive technical decision-making. This role will require a strong focus on both how we design, build, and deliver technology solutions, integrations, and data stores as well as solving our data and system design challenges.

The Senior Data Architect will help us design & build our technology and data platforms which power the growth of our products. We are looking for a top-tier data architect who can work up, down, and across our technology with our product teams and related systems to help solidify our information model and drive technical decision-making. This role will require a strong focus on both how we design, build, and deliver technology solutions, integrations, and data stores as well as solving our data and system design challenges.
In this role you will:
- Collaborate with other Architects, engineering leaders and product managers to lead teams in requirements definition, domain modeling, design, architecture evaluation, and implementation of our systems and services
- Define and document data patterns, standards, and practices
- Apply systems thinking to our data architecture and technology platforms to drive optimizations for speed of delivery, quality, and maintainability
- Work across the organization to foster a culture of data design and architecture that encourages and supports iterative, autonomous development and future scaling
- Partner with our security team to refine our data security strategy while encouraging a security-first mentality across the organization
- Guide the engineering and product teams in anticipation of future data needs and craft design decisions that minimize the cost of future changes within our data systems
- Meet business needs by collaborating with business partners to assist with defining and delivering our technology and product roadmap
- Ensure high functioning distributed systems by defining and refining our domain models and their underlying data models in collaboration with engineering and product teams
- Challenge our business and technical status quo to help build new product capabilities by creatively changing technical strategy or overcoming constraints
- Exemplify our engineering standards/methodologies and provide exceptional technical direction to teams
- Own organizational data architecture practices, governance, and processes as well as their continuous improvement
What it requires:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience
- 7+ years of engineering/architecture experience
- A strong history of being a team player and driving for team success
- Experience in Agile methodologies, Data Governance, and Micro-service Architecture Design and Development
- Expertise in building and owning data models spanning multiple services and APIs, unit and integration testing, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
- Expertise with Azure cloud platform and available services (or equivalent AWS, GCP concepts)
- Strong expertise in database technologies (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL), ETL (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, etc.), queuing, messaging (RabbitMQ, Kafka), and modern source control (Git / Github)
- Experience with data warehouse designs sourced by multiple contributing systems
- A commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to other engineers, analysts, product managers, and team members
- Proven curiosity and interest in keeping up and experimenting with new technologies
- Willingness to adapt to change and work within a fast-paced environment
