What is The Role?

The Finance team is seeking a Director of International Financial Reporting who would be excited to join a financial reporting team in a fast-growing technology company. As a Director of International Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for leading the global statutory reporting requirements of Elastic. The successful candidate will have responsibility for Dutch IFRS reporting as well as in-country local statutory reporting requirements for international entities. The candidate should have demonstrated strong technical accounting experience, be analytical with strong problem-solving skills, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work with excellent accuracy under pressure, and provide solid advice/data to others while demonstrating strong team-building skills.

And as part of a multinational company, the individual will work with international accounting team members to support international close and statutory reporting and needs to be open to flexible hours to cover time zone differences. This role reports to Elastic’s Vice President, Corporate Controller.

What You Will be Doing?

  • Ensure annual financial statements are prepared accurately, timely, and presented in accordance with IFRS
  • Manage the preparation and audit of the Company’s consolidated IFRS and local statutory financial statements
  • Monitor the implementation of new accounting standards under local GAAP/IFRS
  • Maintain statutory ledgers that track US GAAP vs local GAAP/IFRS differences year over year
  • Partner with external auditors, coordinate timely delivery of requests and issuance of financial statements
  • Review applicability of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements; provide technical guidance for implementation as required.
  • Assist in special accounting and finance projects on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Create and maintain internal and external reporting calendar, coordinate key timelines and deliverables, and work collaboratively with various business partners to ensure timely, accurate and complete reporting.
  • Develop and manage strong, collaborative relationships with peers in finance and business partners across the organization to understand the business and apply that knowledge to the financial statements and reporting
  • Assist in special accounting and finance projects on an adhoc basis.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Licensed CPA (or equivalent credentials)
  • Relevant 8+ years of external audit, accounting, and/or financial reporting experience in a mid-size to large corporate environment
  • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of IFRS
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as the ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide, and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to finance and non-finance personnel
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to details
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a distributed, multi-faceted, fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and manage individuals
