The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

USRM Data & Analytics Engineering is actively searching for a highly productive member of a distributed, dynamic agile team to serve as a technical expert in analysis, design, coding, and testing innovative data platforms, reporting solutions and analytics.  This position will be an integral member of the Data Platform Engineering (DPE) team and community of engineers in USRM.

 

Job Summary:

 

In this role you will work collaboratively on an agile team to develop and enhance complex systems and/or software from user stories and technical/architectural specifications. You will analyze complex technical system problems and create innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations.

In this role you will: 

• Work in a dynamic and exciting agile environment with Engineers, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners to develop creative data-driven solutions that meet business and technical initiatives
• Use your data platform and cloud infrastructure background to design data platforms with monitoring, automation, load auditing/control, orchestration and securing data in transit and at rest
• Improve speed to market by focusing on new technology stack building automation and repeatable technology patterns that are long-term strategic data solutions using AWS, Java, Python, as well as other modern data architecture paradigm
• Design and develop programs and tools to support ingestion, curation and provisioning of complex enterprise data to achieve analytics, reporting, and data science
• Demonstrate open minded and collaborative approach to creating innovative technical solutions
• Analyze data and technical system problems to design and implement effective, flexible solutions
• Handle end-to-end development, including coding, testing, and debugging during each cycle
• Develop automated tests for multiple scopes (Unit, System, Integration, Regression)
• Mentor new and junior developers
• Identify and recommend appropriate continuous improvement opportunities 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, technical degree preferred
• Experience developing back end, data warehouse technology solutions
• One to Two years of Platform/Data Engineer experience

Technical Exposure to:

• Java Programming Skills
• Having exposure to code quality frameworks, test frameworks, mocking, and stubbing is a plus
• AWS Services and Concepts
• CFT, S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo, Athena, CloudWatch, Glue, and Step Functions
• Familiarity with Python, Java, Javascript and/or Typescript
• Intermediate SQL Skills
• CICD Tooling
• Github or Comparable source control management tooling
