About the Role

You will be part of the HARMAN #ReadyUpgrade Project Management Team. Responsible for global Change and Configuration Management for software/hardware products.

In this role you will work with project- and product managers, project leads, engineers on driving the defined change process and define Building Block reuse strategy and reuse plan.


Your Team

The Project Management Team is a global team whose members work in a global environment to drive the development of the Ready Upgrade product family.

What You Will Do

  • Performs Change- and Configuration Management (CCM) activities as per defined policies and procedures
  • Contribute towards defining and updating the CCM Plan and report progress
  • Drive the change request analysis with the related teams, summarize the results and prepare for decision  the change control bord
  • Identify all configuration items for the family of products
  • Support project teams to ensure work products are current, accurate and properly controlled
  • Configuration items for products are available to the team as needed
  • Ensure effective implementation of branching and merging strategy
  • Support project teams on CCM related tool chain and version management
  • Support release process to deliver software and hardware to different customers
  • Supports the product development activity so that developers and integrators have appropriate workspaces to build and test their work
  • Ensure that the CCM environment facilitates product review, and change and defect tracking activities
  • Perform CCM audit and assist in implementation of the audit recommendations.
  • Assist in management, maintenance and automation of CCM tools
  • Analyse configuration issues and propose appropriate resolutions
  • Analyse and provide the reuse status of configuration items
  • Other duties as defined by supervisor

What You Need

  • REQUIRED Specific Knowledge, Expertise, Coursework
    • Good interpersonal skills and can interface with peers, leadership, and customer teams.
    • Hands on experience on change and configuration management activities for a multiple customer product.
    • Knowledge of software and hardware versioning.
    • Knowledge of software build and configuration tools.
    • Knowledge of software and hardware development and release processes.
    • Self starter and self motivated.
    • Exemplary English verbal and written communications skills.

  • REQUIRED Degree and/or Training, including specifically defined educational equivalent
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent; Master’s degree

  • REQUIRED Certifications/Licenses
    • None required.
    • Functional safety and/or ASPICE certifications are not required but would be beneficial to the role.

  • REQUIRED Specific Prior Experiences
    • 4+ years of experience working with embedded software or hardware.
    • 2+ years of configuration management experience.

  • REQUIRED Physical Demands
    • This position requires the ability to use a computer and other common office equipment
    • Ability to travel by airlines is required

    • Change Request tool: IBM ALM
    • SCM version control tools : Bitbucket, Perforce, GIT
    • SCM Continuous Integration tools : Jenkins
    • Ticketing tools: ELVIS, Jira
    • Build Tools  : Bitbucket and ANT
    • Scripting Languages : Shell Script, Python
