What You will Do:
Assists in maintaining financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded in accordance with GAAP. Ensures the accuracy of entries to general ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Prepares balance sheet reconciliations and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to ensure accurate monthly accruals and reporting. The work for this role is both independent and collaborative in nature.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Record financial classification of transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ensure accurate and timely close process through preparation or review of monthly close schedule, journal entries, schedules, and reconciliations, etc.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and propose journal entries as part of monthly close process
- Develop, maintain, and/or review reports to support analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts upon request.
- Investigate, report, and correct any inconsistencies and errors identified.
- Prepare various internal reports and variance analysis in accordance with GAAP, with a high level of accuracy while ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
- Assist in the coordination and completion of annual financial audits and preparation of audit schedules pertaining to domestic and international companies.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating intercompany transactions.
- Maintain integrity of accounting and reporting software pertaining to all entities.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures, including document storage for reports and working papers.
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for staff, management, and other departments for various matters.
- Assist with accounting system implementations, procedural updates, and improvements to increase efficiency for the accounting department.
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Finance Department.
Requirements
Minimum Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of formal education and related business experience in a mid-market business.
- Minimum of 1 year related business experience in a mid-market business to include solid general ledger experience and reconciliation skills and a basic understanding of GAAP.
- Experience with international transactions and foreign currency accounting a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Experience with Intacct preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP.
