Sr. FSO Consultant

The Sr. FSO Consultant’s role is to deliver on our Full-Stack Observability (FSO) managed service and professional service contracts, providing an excellent client experience while meeting our SLAs and timelines. This includes planning, securing, installing, configuring, optimizing, and documenting application performance monitoring (APM) and network monitoring installations, configurations, and operations. It involves working with the client to define monitoring which provides end-to-end application performance visibility, diagnosing problems, and recommending resolutions. It requires training and support numerous platforms within Xigent’s FSO technology portfolio.

Responsibilities

Strategy, Planning & Acquisition

• Develop strong relationships with Xigent clients, adopting a consultative and prescriptive approach that inspires trust and confidence
• Drive adoption of FSO tools
• Concisely convey and promote the business value of product and services solutions
• Stay ahead of dynamic technology landscapes with a particular focus on adjacent technologies like microservices, containerization, Cloud, software security, etc.
• Cultivate collaboration with our sales and marketing teams and provide feedback from the field on service offering updates

Deployment

• Own the technical execution of projects and work with the project team to monitor the progress against its technical design
• Maintain expert-level implementation proficiency and the ability to work independently through ongoing training and enablement
• Implement the technical design and assist with application performance management agent deployment and configuration
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to solutions, configurations, dependencies, processes, and service records

Operational Management

• Manage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex incidents to minimize incident duration and prevent future incidents
• Participate and support configuration change management
• Execute configuration changes
• Ensure services are provided within service level agreements (SLAs)
• Update and continuously improve documentation, including asset records, KBs, and SOPs
• Consult and communicate with internal and external clients
• Provide guidance and support for jr. members
• Other duties as assigned and requested

Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

• BA in Information Technology, Business, or related subject area
• Certifications supporting two of the technologies listed below

Knowledge & Experience

• Experience in software development or DevOps
• Experience in FSO technical or pre-sales consulting
• Experience in managed and professional services delivery organizations
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the following technologies
  • AppDynamics
  • Dynatrace
  • New Relic
  • DataDog
  • Splunk
  • LogicMonitor
  • Microsoft Application Insights
  • Cisco ThousandEyes
  • Cloud: Azure, AWS
• Knowledge and experience in two of the following technical domains
  • Site reliability engineering (SRE)
  • Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Software development or scripting (.NET, Java, Python, Powershell, Bash)
  • Linux
  • Enterprise database technologies
