Hinds County is hiring a Parts Manager to work in our Central Repair Department in Raymond, MS.  This position requires attention to detail to be responsible for managing inventory. The responsibilities of Parts Manager involve the supervision and acquisition, accountability and distribution of parts for work performed in the Central Repair Department. The work involves coordination with Purchasing, Shop Superintendent and other Hinds County departments/divisions. Specifications that are provided to Purchasing Division are prepared by incumbent. Supervision is exercised over the Assistant Parts Manager.

Incumbent is under the general supervision of the Assistant Central Repair Director.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Monitor and supervise parts inventory.

Maintain a supply of parts which are used on a frequent basis.

Purchase material, parts, and supplies.

Communicate with vendors, write requisitions, request purchase order numbers and relay to vendors.

Monitor all open ticket reports, receiving reports, purchase orders and any report relevant to the parts division.

Responsible for security of inventory and for analyzing the quality of parts.

Reconcile petty cash on a weekly basis and reconcile the bank statement for same. Completes reimburse forms for petty cash.

Compiles monthly budget report.

May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

Lift a minimum of 20 pounds frequently (over 33% of the time)

Operate a motor vehicle occasionally (less than 33% of the time)

Regularly stand for extended periods of time

Constantly operate a computer

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma / GED

 or

A combination of related education and experience equaling five (5) years
