Job Summary:

In collaboration with the Financial Controller and Executive Team, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role will involve managing financial statements, preparing reports, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Financial Controller.


Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.

- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.

- Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.

- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial modeling.

- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and filings.

- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.

- Collaborate with the Controller to ensure overall financial health of the organization.

Requirements

  - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the healthcare industry.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.

- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Experience with financial reporting and analysis.

- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
