Job Description:
What You’ll Do
- This position is responsible for delivering an exceptional and inclusive experiences to Discover's new hires, ensuring they are able to integrate effectively and efficiently into their team, their function and the company in their first three months, regardless of role and location.
- The individual will maintain onboarding resources, facilitate new hire sessions and partner with People Operations, TA, HR Technology and other teams to ensure new hires have a smooth transition into the organization.
- They will also be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams including HR, Business Technology, Facilities and others to execute on program components and improve processes. In addition, this role will be responsible for onsite event design and execution and partnering with C-suite colleagues and other stakeholders across the organization. Finally, this role will be responsible for designing and improving our current onboarding program including designing program components, tracking standards and procedures, content curation, best practice research and technology utilization and automation of processes.
- Principal New Hire Experience Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
How You’ll Do It
- Accountable for the successful delivery of Discover's onboarding programs, including design, program management and oversight of delivery. Designs and coordinates logistics for a creative, impactful, and scalable onboarding experience for new employees.
- Measures success of the new hire experience to improve new employee experience and reduces the time it takes for them to ramp up. Partners with key stakeholders from across the business to ensure new employees receive the information, resources, and support they need to be connected and ready to contribute.
- Facilitates components of the program in person and virtually; coordinates with and trains local delivery partners for in-person facilitation in other locations. Integrates concepts covered in other Discover programs into onboarding to create a cohesive employee experience.
- Creates deliberate closed loop that informs Discover's talent strategy based on insights from new hires' experience; works closely with the rest of the HR organization to ensure a coherent Discover employee experience as new employees before more tenured.
- Lead event coordination from inception and design to execution, including website, registration and application design to create optimal event experiences. Partner with multiple external vendors, managing contract negotiations and vendor relationships for onsite, hybrid and virtual events.
Qualifications You’ll Need
The Basics
- Bachelors in Human Resources, Business Administration and Management or related
- 6+ years Organizational development, employee onboarding programs or related
- In lieu of education, 8+ years with Organizational development, employee onboarding programs or related
