Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh as a Sales Finance Manager for our Sales Compensation team based out of our New York City location. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office. The successful candidate will lead daily operations from a support and administrative level, coordinating complex logistics and task assignments for client relationship projects while ensuring effective communication and problem resolution. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing the Sales Compensation Plans (SCIP) for our Marsh & Mercer colleagues across the US and Canada. This highly visible, hands-on position requires strategic collaboration with various stakeholders to assist in driving the effectiveness and efficiency of our sales compensation strategies.

We will count on you to:

  • Implement and administer sales incentive programs, manage day-to-day workflow approvals, and conduct periodic audits of the sales compensation system.
  • Optimize incentive structures in collaboration with sales leadership, staying updated on industry trends and providing strategic insights on compensation impacts.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Sales Compensation Specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards, Human Resources, Sales Leadership, and Finance teams to establish clear metrics and language for sales compensation plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Information Systems (CIS) team to drive enhancements and efficiencies of system changes.
  • Document and maintain policies, procedures, and flow charts specific to sales compensation processes, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Train colleagues on Anaplan and promote further adoption of our monthly sales compensation system and processes.
  • Support regional finance and controllership in the monthly SCIP accrual and forecast process.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, providing strategic insights on the impact of compensation on sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Create detailed reports on sales compensation performance for senior management, offering insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry compensation trends, ensuring our plans.

  • Participate in various projects and provide support to cross-functional teams as needed.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in a role of similar complexity within finance or operations
  • Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with data analysis tools.
  • Deep understanding of sales processes and financial acumen.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; comfortable in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated, and able to work within a small team.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Experience with MPOWER or similar CRM systems.
  • Anaplan skills are a significant plus.
