Job Description
Position Summary
This role is responsible for overseeing collection calls, managing high-risk collections, and handling government and GMA collections. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of collections processes and regulations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Collection Calls:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the collections team.
- Ensure timely and effective collection calls are made to customers with outstanding balances.
- Monitor call quality and provide feedback and training to team members to improve performance.
High-Risk Collections:
- Identify and manage high-risk accounts to minimize potential losses.
- Develop and implement strategies to effectively collect on high-risk accounts.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex collection issues.
Government and GMA Collections:
- Oversee the collection of government and GMA accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all government and GMA collections activities.
- Communicate with government agencies and GMA clients to resolve outstanding issues and ensure timely payments.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the collections team to achieve departmental goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and support to team members.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on collections activities, performance metrics, and outcomes.
- Analyze collections data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance collections efficiency and effectiveness.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all collections activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with collections processes.
- Stay updated on changes in collections laws and regulations.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor's Degree in business Finance, statistics, or related field preferred
• 7+ Years analytical experience in a business environment required
• Experience working with business information systems, including SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle or similar.
• Experience querying from applications.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data and to identify relevant issues in solving business problems.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex messages, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences at all organization levels.
• Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, to share, retrieve, research and present business information.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully handle daily deadlines and multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise discretion when making business decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers.
• Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
We offer a competitive salary range of $113,000 to $164,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
