The Role

The Associate Data Engineer role is an entry level position and is an exciting opportunity to develop and grow within a supportive and instructive team.

As an associate data engineer, you will take support the data engineering efforts of bringing data together from multiple production sources into a data warehouse to enable reporting and analysis activities. You will assist in the implementation and maintenance of the EDW data structures and creation of analytical reports and dashboards. You must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.

The Responsibilities

• The candidate will help manage and enhance the data warehousing environment and take it through the future iterations
• Help support of current ETL processes, share responsibilities for monitoring the data warehouse loading process
• Develop familiarity with Snowflake warehousing system
• Develop knowledge on creation of database objects like tables, views, joins, indexes, and database statistics.
• Develop knowledge of a BI tool (Sisense is helpful but not required);
• Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality results under pressure.
• High energy self-starter.
• Partner with technical teams\non-technical teams to implement data capture, ETL, validation, and test methods.
• Assist with multiple projects and adjust to rapidly changing priorities. Focus on, and be able to balance project timeliness, while maintaining overall quality across multiple projects and consultations.
• Maintain and assist in data model documentation, data dictionary, data flow, data mapping and other MDM and Data Governance documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 0-1 years’ experience with data warehousing projects and solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in SQL (ANSI) with the ability to write complex freehand SQL including sub-queries, nested queries, and other advanced SQL features.
• Knowledge in Python.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Sisense\Tableau\Power BI.

Pay Range Guidelines for this Position:

The salary range for this position is 75000 USD to 85000 USD. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience and skills. In addition to your salary, Heidrick & Struggles offers discretionary bonuses (subject to eligibility requirements) and a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, disability leave, parental leave, paid time off and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
