About the role
The Senior Accountant will oversee the day-to-day operations in financial accounting for
Zevra and its subsidiaries. This includes managing tasks to produce timely periodic
financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and
reconciliations of the company's reported financial results, balance sheets, and ensuring
that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
A successful senior accountant should have a solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP,
strong financial analysis skills, possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly
organized, able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
What you'll do
- Prepare and review journal entries for Zevra and its subsidiaries
- Manage recurring entry, G&A allocation and intercompany accounting process
- Review bank reconciliations
- Prepare quarterly royalty statements
- Manage prepaid, lease accounting and debt accounting processes
- Prepare and review balance sheet and P&L reconciliation
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of noncompliance.
- Prepare payroll entries and manage accounting for severance
- Review and post vendor invoices and expense reports to the sub-ledger
- Reconcile intercompany and affiliate accounts
- Compile ad hoc daily/weekly, monthly reports and reconciliations
- Assist in quarterly, annual and statutory financial audits
- Assist with internal control over financial reporting audits
- Ensure timely processing of monthly payments
- Prepare ACH and wire payment via online banking
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP principles
- Supervise supporting junior staff
- Accounting special projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another business-related field
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience with working knowledge of recording journal entries and preparing reconciliations
- Must have a strong concept of U.S. GAAP

- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
- Experience with Concur, or similar expense reporting system
- Strong analytical, technical skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities that require strong project management, decision-making capabilities, and flexibility
