Job Description

This is a top sales and marketing position with responsibility for the direction and management of the sales & marketing, branding, communication, and promotion of the organization's products and services. Provide sales leadership to develop and implement growth strategies and tactics for the Service group with $300M revenue. Position will serve as a member of the Hobart Service leadership team and contribute to the overall business strategy. Incumbent will have direct supervision of a team of sales professionals located across the United States and will influence sales strategies throughout other branch personnel and equipment sales.


This position Reports to the Vice President/GM Hobart Service Operations and is responsible for developing strategies and tactics to successfully increase Hobart Service sales. Will work with marketing and service products personnel to determine strategies to serve target market segments. Work through cross-functional teams to successfully execute on sales initiatives.
This position directs the efforts of marketing and advertising executives and works with them to develop business plans and strategies to attain corporate sales and profit objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and understand operational and purchasing influences of all targeted segments, products, or services.
  • Determine best practices around negotiating, closing, writing (letters and emails) and developing leads.
  • Build a professional sales team based on sales growth.
  • Target specific market segments with custom sales products/promotions to drive growth in the markets that are chosen to participate in.
  • Works with Field Sales Management to drive revenue generating programs to achieve or exceed sales expectations.
  • Drive National Account sales growth by establishing Key Account managers to target specific accounts.
  • Establish appropriate sales goals, territories/customers, and quotas for each sales associate.
  • Assist with monthly outlook.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President/GM and staff peers to develop the Division’s LRP and Annual Operating Plan
  • Partner with other FEG operating divisions as appropriate to build overall strategies for common customers.
  • Supervise and develop sales staff; provide regular coaching and mentoring to sales professionals; includes the creation of a career development plan in support of ITW’s talent management initiative.
  • Develop appropriate sales and performance metrics and reporting; including monitoring and driving accountability.
  • Align the sales budget with the initiatives in the annual Op Plan; manage to it.
  • Active participation in industry associations
  • Actively apply 80/20 principles to customer segments/opportunities
  • Actively apply USa principles to sales process

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has direct report responsibility for the NAM sales organization, Field Sales organization, Customer Care Operations and Marketing.
