<p>We warmly welcome motivated researchers who are fueled by ambition and a zeal to join us in forging new frontiers in power electronics. An exciting opportunity awaits you at the Electronics group at DTU Electro. We are offering a 2-year fully funded Postdoc position, supported by the Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD) Grand Solution “GreenMag” project.<br/><br/>The GreenMag project aims to revolutionize the high-power magnetic components (HPMCs) industry with innovative planar magnetic technologies that are more efficient, affordable, and sustainable. As global electrification accelerates, outdated HPMC designs and manufacturing processes hinder renewable energy adoption and efficient electricity consumption. GreenMag plans to deliver next-generation HPMCs that are 50% smaller, 25% cheaper, and 40% more efficient than current technologies, using 30% less raw material and energy, and nearly fully recyclable.<br/><br/><strong>Responsibilities and qualifications</strong><br/>As a valued member of our team, your insights and expertise will be pivotal in addressing the challenges of HPMCs design, focusing on enhancing their efficiency, reducing size, and improving thermal management. Your primary tasks will include:</p> <ul> <li>Investigating mathematical and analytical models to predict coil loss, facilitating the optimal design of HPMCs</li> <li>Constructing a large-signal platform to measure coil loss of HPMCs</li> <li>Exploring innovative solutions, such as new coil patterns and core geometries, to reduce coil loss in HPMCs</li> </ul> <p>You will also contribute to teaching and supervising BSc and MSc student projects, and be co-supervisor for PhD students.<br/><br/>Anyone who:</p> <ul> <li>has a good grasp of magnetic components design in power converters</li> <li>has good experiences in winding resistances modelling of magnetic components, especially familiar with modelling of the skin effect, the proximity effect, and the fringing effect</li> <li>is familiar with the simulation tools such as Ansys (Maxwell), or COMSOL</li> <li>is target-oriented, structured thinking, eager to learn new things, and ready to think outside the box</li> <li>can communicate in English at a good level</li> </ul> <p>is welcome to apply.
