Lifeguard - Pool - Seasonal (Citywide)

Job Summary

The Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring pool activity, enforcing safety rules, and providing a safe environment for all guests. This position requires maintaining alertness at all times, performing rescues when necessary, and delivering excellent guest service in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.

 

How You Will Create the Extraordinary

• Provide courteous, professional, and friendly service to all guests

• Initiate and engage in positive guest interactions while maintaining safety awareness

• Guard the pool from designated lifeguard stands to ensure guest safety at all times

• Maintain an upright, attentive, and alert posture while on duty

• Follow all safety, health, and operational standards consistently

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations in accordance with American Red Cross guidelines

• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment

 

What You Will Need

• Must be at least 16 years of age

• Lifeguard certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid training All certifications must be completed prior to employment

• Strong customer service skills with a positive and enthusiastic attitude

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent guest interaction

• Ability to tolerate a close‑knit work environment with constant co‑worker engagement

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, push, pull, and perform other physical tasks

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the pool area for the duration of the shift

• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and outdoor conditions

• Ability to assess situations quickly and perform rescue skills using sidestroke, crawl, or breaststroke

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

 

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs. and move lounge chairs, towel carts, and other equipment as needed

• Must be able to swim 500 meters nonstop using approved strokes

• Must maintain physical stamina and a calm, focused mental attitude to perform under pressure

• Must be able to respond to visual and verbal cues

• Must be available to work weekends and holidays

• Finalist candidates must complete a drug test and background check prior to receiving an offer
