Your Role:

We are looking for a Cost Accountant for our Viral Vector Manufacturing site in Carlsbad, California. The Cost Accountant supports the Viral Vector Controller by maintaining and analyzing the site’s cost accounting functions and other site expenditures and creates reports to advise on improving efficiency.

In this role, you will actively contribute to achieving the site's objectives, which include monthly closing activities, financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, business analysis, and capital expenditure tracking and reporting. You will support the Controller and partner with Operations on initiatives that improve operating and financial performance and develop appropriate costing in accordance with company guidelines.

You will continually look to improve internal processes and drive improvement initiatives across controlling and the broader finance organization.

 

This position is based onsite in Carlsbad, California.

 

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting or similar discipline
• 2+ years of experience as a Cost Accountant or similar role within a manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO)
• Meticulous attention to detail, great multi-tasker, and highly organized and focused. 
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work well with others but also independently. 
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and practices, and unquestioned integrity in the application of such standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Highly beneficial to have working financial experience in SAP or a similar ERP system; with an ability/eagerness to grasp new systems and applications.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, able to learn quickly, and team-player orientation.

 

 

Pay Range for this position - $49,500 - $148,900
