Your Role at KIK


At KIK the Quality Assurance Technician 3rd Shift will work Monday – Friday with occasional overtime as required (9:00 pm - 5:30 am). They will ensure production excellence through line parameter reviews, meticulous sample testing, great collaboration and communication skills in an industrial environment. The candidate will coordinate testing, maintain lab cleanliness, document procedures, and handle instrument calibration. This position has an hourly rate starting at $21.00 in addition to a .50 shift differential as well as a quarterly incentive bonus.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Perform and complete analytical methods in accordance with company procedures and project guidelines, ensuring timely and accurate results. Communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations both verbally and through formal reports.
  • Safely execute detailed chemical and analytical procedures, document observations, and record test data in spreadsheets and lab notebooks. Conduct simple equipment calibrations and summarize results for easy interpretation.
  • Manage product testing documentation, handle non-compliant product investigations, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain departmental documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), product technical specifications, and project reports. Assist in the development of innovative test methods to evaluate the quality and performance of new products.
  • Collaborate effectively within the team, demonstrating strong communication skills and maintaining a flexible, positive work attitude.
  • Ensure all development activities comply with safety, health, environmental, and regulatory standards in partnership with the Regulatory Manager.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance safety, housekeeping standards, and overall laboratory practices.
  • Test raw materials and finished products for physical and chemical properties to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
  • Oversee and manage the First Sample Retention Program to ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, ensuring that all activities are risk-assessed and properly documented.
     

What You’ll Bring:

  • Associates Degree with college chemistry background (Preferred) High school diploma or equivalent, with strong mathematical and problem-solving skills (Required)
  • 1 or more years of hands-on experience with a Technical quality background and/or experience in quality systems, checks and roles.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and perform wet chemical testing and analysis.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Capability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to strong fumes.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance), and perform tasks that may require sitting, climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Excellent documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to working safely and following established procedures.
