JOB SUMMARY
The Pretreatment Coordinator assists the Superintendent in the supervision and administration of the City of Conroe's Industrial Pretreatment Program and support personnel. Must be able to read and interpret the plant's and City's Industrial Pretreatment Program regulatory parameters.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology or related field, or minimum three years of experience in implementing/management/supervisory capacity of a working of Industrial Pretreatment Program. Must possess a valid class "C" Texas driver's license. Microsoft experience in Word, Excel, etc. preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid Texas Class "C" driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of aspects of the administration of a Pretreatment Program.
- Ability to maintain accurate related records, schedules and supervise employees.
- Ability to adapt to new technology, new methods and changing conditions.
- Ability to work as many hours needed to complete a given project.
- Ability to operate various types of equipment and vehicles.
- Ability to make decisions in absence of the Wastewater Superintendent.
- Ability to communicate with vendors, management, industrial users, contractors and the public in a professional manner.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to display proficiency in both job management and personnel management.
- Ability to obtain certifications/licenses to perform work assignments.
- Ability to understand and enforce the City of Conroe and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to administer Industrial Pretreatment Programs.
- Ability to administer EPA approved Risk Management Plan.
- Ability to make critical decisions in emergency situations for the public or employees.
- Ability to respond at any hour during an emergency when requested.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Experience with Pretreatment or FOG software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
