We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead and scale a new product engineering organization, starting from a prototype to a full-fledged production release and beyond. This role is a strategic growth position, bridging the responsibilities of a Senior Manager and Director, providing an opportunity to scale with the new Product Engineering Group as we build the next generation of cybersecurity solutions.

As a key leader in our new development center in Bucharest, you will drive engineering execution, technical implementation, and cross-functional alignment across Product, DevOps, Business Operations, Support, and Engineering. This role is ideal for an experienced technical leader with a track record in building and scaling engineering teams, implementing best practices, and delivering innovative products.

What you will be doing, your legacy: 

Leadership & Organizational Growth:

• Build, lead, and scale a high-performing engineering team to support the development of our next-generation SaaS product.
• Hire, develop, and mentor engineers and managers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
• Ensure engineering teams have clear ownership and autonomy while maintaining alignment with business objectives.

Product Execution & Technical Implementation:

• Own execution of product initiatives by translating high-level priorities into scalable, well-defined engineering projects.
• Work closely with Product Managers and UX teams to refine requirements, define scope, and manage dependencies.
• Identify gaps in feasibility, performance, or architecture before committing to product features.
• Ensure that engineering teams have clear technical direction, delivery timelines, and risk management strategies.

Operational Excellence & Scalability:

• Implement technical best practices and operational scalability, ensuring long-term sustainability.
• Drive process improvement, dependency resolution, and cross-team collaboration to optimize execution efficiency.
• Ensure effective allocation of resources and headcount.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Serve as a bridge between Product, DevOps, Business Operations, Support, and Engineering, ensuring seamless collaboration.
• Report execution challenges, scaling needs, and technical risks.
• Advocate for engineering-driven initiatives to improve platform reliability, security, and scalability.

Execution & Continuous Improvement:

• Ensure that engineers understand the business context and user impact of the features they build.
• Escalate product gaps, technical feasibility issues, and UX concerns early in the development cycle.
• Implement a DevSecOps-oriented culture, transforming the SDLC for continuous integration and delivery.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend technical improvements based on product needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading and scaling development teams (20+ engineers) while optimizing quality and speed.
• Strong experience in DevSecOps methodologies, SDLC, data engineering, and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience leading and coaching engineering managers and senior engineers.
• Expertise in enterprise software development (on-prem and cloud-native).
• Experience in SAP-related technologies or other business-critical applications is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with enterprise security, security research, and vulnerability management is highly desirable.
