Medical Scribe - (ZR_23019_JOB)

This is a remote position.

• 20 hours/week – 5 hours/day, 4 days a week (Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 12–5 PM Toronto time)

Responsibilities:

• Accurately transcribe and document medical encounters and procedures as narrated by healthcare providers, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, and treatment plans.
  

• Navigate electronic health records (EHR) to record data effectively.
  

• Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.
  

• Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  

• Manage and organize medical documents in a timely manner.
  

• Assist healthcare providers in locating and organizing laboratory reports, radiology studies, and other clinical documents.
  

• Participate in departmental administrative tasks as required.
  

• Provide administrative support for healthcare providers during patient care.
  

Requirements

• Ideally a former doctor or someone experienced in medical note-taking with a PHIPA-compliant setup
  

• Proven experience as a Medical Scribe or similar role in the healthcare industry.
  

• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
  

• Strong typing skills and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  

• Excellent listening and documentation skills.
  

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  

• High school diploma; a degree in a healthcare-related field is a plus.
  

Highly Regarded Skills and Experience:

• Certification as a medical scribe.
  

• Experience in a remote scribing capacity.
  

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  

• Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare compliance regulations.
  

• Ability to adapt to various medical specializations quickly and documentation styles.
