We have an exciting opportunity for a Orion Environmental Control and Life Support System Subsystem Manager to join the team with Bastion, a teammate company.
The Orion Environmental Control and Life Support System Subsystem Manager will:
- Be a Subsystem Manager for the Orion ECLSS including the following:
- Assume full oversight responsibility (under the direction of the NASA ECLSS System Manager) for all engineering and operations decisions for Orion ECLSS related topics
- Be responsible for one of the subsystems including Air Revitalization Subsystem (ARS), Pressure Control Subsystem (PCS), Potable Water Supply (PWS), and Crew Waste Management
- Review system architectures, hardware requirements, designs, assembly procedures, test plans, procedures and data of Orion ELCSS subsystems
- Certify ECLSS hardware for flight and/or reflight
- Assess and understand engineering drawings and sketches
- Provide recommendations for materials selection for flight hardware
- Be able to troubleshoot and investigate hardware failures and provide recommendations to get hardware back to working condition
- Understand and utilize commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for ECLSS hardware on Orion Elements
- Support real time system operations, including flight support in the Mission Evaluation Room (MER)
- Handle communications between various hardware providers and sustaining organizations
- Take point in exchanging information with a wide range of stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Orion Program, JSC Engineering, Vehicle Office, and Kennedy Space Center
- Perform other duties as assigned by the ECLSS System Manager.
- Some travel required.
