Position Summary:

The Traveling Smile Consultant (TSC) plays a vital role in supporting patient conversion and treatment acceptance across our network of practices. This role is designed for a high-performing sales consultant who is flexible, independent, and motivated by both results and impact. The TSC will provide on-site support in practices experiencing coverage gaps, onboarding new Smile Consultants, or requiring sales performance improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site new patient consultations, building trust and communicating the value of care in a compelling, empathetic, and effective manner.

  • Maintain ownership of patient follow-up and communication to support case acceptance; timeframes for follow-up may be customized based on assignment.

  • Close treatment plans with confidence and clarity, driving conversion through education and relationship.

  • Serve as interim Smile Consultant during:

    • Maternity or extended leave

    • SC turnover and transition periods

    • High-growth or new locations

    • Underperforming locations

    • Onboarding and training of new SCs

  • Collaborate with Practice Operations Managers and Doctors to ensure consult processes are aligned and supported.

  • Document and report consult activity, outcomes, and follow-up efforts in CRM tools and tracking sheets.

  • Participate in virtual team calls, sales training, and coaching sessions to support continuous improvement.

Performance Expectations:

  • Target case acceptance rate of 40% or higher

  • Maintain organized and timely follow-up communication with all consults

  • Deliver weekly reports on consult outcomes and pipeline status

  • Exhibit flexibility and professionalism while traveling and integrating with new teams

  • Contribute to a positive and consistent patient experience regardless of location

Travel Expectations & Support:

This position requires 100% travel, primarily Sunday–Thursday, with four weeks on the road per month. Occasional flexibility may be provided to accommodate personal needs or special assignments.


Travel logistics include:

  • Flights booked by consultant using Ramp Travel or a designated portal (target budget: under $500 round trip)

  • Hotel accommodations under $125/night

  • Daily per diem of $75 for meals

  • Ramp card with $10,000 limit for approved expenses

  • All travel and compensation costs billed to the practice(s) supported

Occasional long-term assignments (2–4+ weeks) may be required and supported accordingly (e.g., bringing family along, extended lodging, etc.).
