Job Description:

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage Submittals:
    • Enter and track submittals in the Resident Management System (RMS).
    • Prepare and maintain a submittal register.
    • Group electronic submittal documents into transmittal packages.
    • Ensure timely submission and approval of all required submittals.
  • Design Electrical Systems:
    • Develop and design electrical systems, including microgrids.
    • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
    • Ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager:
    • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
    • Provide regular updates on project progress and any issues that arise.
    • Assist in the coordination of project activities and resources.
  • Coordinate with Engineers in Other Disciplines:
    • Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Cybersecurity, Control Systems Engineering
  • Develop Shop Drawings:
    • Prepare detailed shop drawings for electrical installations.
    • Ensure drawings are accurate and meet project specifications.
    • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility and integration.
  • Prepare Equipment Data Sheets:
    • Compile and submit data sheets for all electrical equipment.
    • Ensure data sheets include all necessary technical specifications and compliance information.
  • Generate Reports:
    • Prepare and submit regular project reports, including progress updates and technical documentation.
    • Document any issues or changes to the project scope.
  • Create Work Plans:
    • Develop detailed work plans for electrical installations and activities.
    • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a cohesive project plan.
  • Develop Sequences of Operations:
    • Create detailed sequences of operations for electrical systems.
    • Ensure sequences are clear, accurate, and meet project requirements.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct quality assurance checks on all electrical work.
    • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 and other relevant standards.
  • Participate in Meetings:
    • Attend and contribute to project meetings, including commissioning progress meetings and coordination meetings.
    • Collaborate with other team members to address any project issues or concerns.
  • Support Commissioning Activities:
    • Assist in the commissioning of electrical systems.
    • Ensure all systems are tested and meet performance specifications.
  • Maintain Documentation:
    • Keep accurate records of all project activities, including submittals, drawings, and reports.
    • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Proficiency in applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline.
  • Knowledge of microgrid systems and ability to design and write technical papers in support of the related technologies.
  • Utilization of engineering theories and practices.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related technical discipline).
  • Typically 2+ years of related work experience.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Familiar with and able to perform work in compliance with relevant standards such as NFPA 70, IEEE 142, and IEEE 1100, particularly in grounding and bonding
  • Experience with electrical generation and distribution systems, including the installation and start-up of projects involving electrical generation
  • Willingness to pursue and obtain a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineer certification.
