Compass Group is seeking an Assistant Dining Services Director for a Senior Living community with 350 residents (independent living, assisted living, long-term care, and memory care).

 

As the Director of Operations, this individual will be responsible for assisting in the overall management of the food service operation through maintaining established costs and quality standards to ensure superior service and maximize profits.

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, this role is part of the management team overseeing 45 team members. A healthcare background is preferred, and culinary experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and supervising functions and activities of the department
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, residents, subcontractors, and all team members
• Regularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operations
• Supports and communicates Company initiatives
• Respond and assist in any departmental guest service issues
• Executes all menus, promotions, and programs as outlined by the Director of Food Service in accordance with Compass standards
• Directs and conducts safety, sanitation, and community maintenance programs.
• Acts as a liaison with client’s management team, and other areas as needed, to ensure efficient operational performance
• Ensures that daily walkthroughs are being conducted in both FOH and BOH to provide guidance and feedback to team members
• Directs and conducts safety, sanitation, and community maintenance programs and audits
• Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
• Participates in regularly scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and team members
• Interviews, hires, trains, and develops team members according to Compass guidelines
• Mentors department managers to develop their skills and leadership abilities
• Other duties, as assigned

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through skills
• Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff
• Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
