About the role

Databricks is looking for an experienced contracts manager to play a leading role in Databricks growing U.S. commercial legal team. The Contracts Manager will report to the Legal Director, Americas, and be an important part of the team responsible for reviewing and negotiating customer agreements, providing legal support for revenue-generating activities of Databricks.

The impact you will have:

The Contract Manager should have 5+ years of relevant legal experience negotiating complex technology transactions with commercial organizations. The Contracts Manager should have meaningful experience negotiating SaaS transactions with Fortune 500 companies, and expertise with issues related to privacy, data security, and intellectual property, including open source software.

  • You will draft and manage NDAs and order forms as well as complex contract documentation
  • You will provide support and advice to sales teams on deal process and contract management
  • Bring your understanding of product and pricing to guide the sales team during negotiations, and in other contexts
  • You will learn Databricks internal structures, product offerings, technology, security/data protection systems and policies to give you a foundation for providing support across Databricks' lines of business
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders and provide strategic advice on the Company's go-to-market efforts
  • Contribute as a team player to help further the status of the legal department as a respected and valued resource within the company

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years' experience negotiating complex software or software-as-a-service and consulting services contracts involving security, privacy, and IP issues.
  • Experience in-house within a technology company with a quarterly sales cycle
  • Knowledge of business process relating to commercial contract practices in a sales-led environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize time and business needs in the face of competing demands
  • Experience managing time sensitive, complex commercial contract processes and administration
